The arrival of the City Vs Liverpool Community shield match was a big joyful relief for all fans of premier league football, nothing beats the week in week out drama of the English premier league and what better way to tease the fans than a pre-season cup match between the two of the biggest clubs in Premiership football.

It was a gbas gbos gbos gbas affair from the onset with Manchester city hitting the ground running early on in the game. It wasn’t long before they were rewarded with a Goal courtesy of a Raheem Sterling volley in the 6-yard area, game on! The match quickly settled into a cool tempo in the latter parts of the first half with the teams attacking from both ends until the halftime whistle.

An equaliser goal from Joel Matip in the closing minutes of the game brought the fans back on their feet, the sweet sense of urgency was in the air, who would score the winning goal?! Oh, that tension we’ve all grown accustomed to from watching the premier league……it’s back!

A series of heroic saves from Manchester City’s 36 years old goalie, Claudio Bravo, kept Mohammed Salah out of the score sheets and took the game straight to penalties ( No extra times in the community shield). Claudio Bravo, made the only save in the penalty shootout to gift City their fourth domestic title in a calendar year, a new record.

Ps. This is Claudio Bravo’s first game in 364 days, with his last game coming in last years’ community shield, TalkAbout time on the bench.

A great game overall, and we’ve taken from this is that these two teams are ready to dominate the league once more. Judging from the way the players played, we can’t wait to see what happens next weekend, maybe some new signings before then? The transfer window will be closing soon, let’s see what happens.
